YOU’LL GET A KICK OUT OF IT!
WHAT ARE WE TRAINING?
Goju Ryu is a style of karate that originated in Okinawa, Japan in the early 20th century. The name “Goju Ryu” (Naha-te) means “hard-soft style,” which reflects the balance of hard and soft techniques in this martial art. It incorporates a variety of striking and grappling techniques, including punches, kicks, blocks, joint locks, and throws. Goju Ryu also emphasizes the importance of breathing and body mechanics in executing techniques effectively. Its principles and techniques have been widely practiced and taught throughout the world, and it continues to be a popular style of karate today.
Goju Ryu also has strong roots to Chinese martial arts. Especially white crane style from Fujian.
At Flips and Kicks we are pleased to partner with different venues where students come and train. We offer Karate classes at WAB, ISB and AudreyAnne Studio (GHL) weekly. We offer our classes both for children and adults.
